Zellige, decoded: the tile behind the look

Zellige is Moroccan terracotta, hand-glazed and hand-cut, fired until the surface pools and ripples. Held to the light, each tile catches differently — that variance is a feature, not a flaw.

When you tile a table in it, you inherit that liveliness. The rose squares aren't one rose; they're a dozen close cousins. Up close it's a watercolour. From across the room it snaps into a crisp grid.

It's also why every piece is genuinely one of one. We can repeat the palette, never the exact surface.
